Parametric surface vs Bézier curves

hey peeps

I created the attached file (Bézier opened curve) with 'Bézier polygon', and I would like to transform the whole thing into a (2D) surface,

- should I use 'parametric surface' instead? if yes, what should I enter into 'expressions' and 'position' columns?
- I tried 'convert to surface' and 'convert to solid', none of them works -> the geometry as per the attached file disappear completely. Any ideas?

any other ideas how to create a Bézier surface??
