Using the CAD Import Module in the classroom
COMSOL offers a complete package for the problem-free import of CAD geometries. This includes:
- Automatic repair features—The CAD Import Module automatically cleans up geometries according to default settings or tolerances selected by the user.
- Generic file formats—The module reads the STEP (.stp), IGES (.igs), SAT® (.sat) and Parasolid® (.x_t) formats.
- Bidirectional interface with SolidWorks® and Autodesk® Inventor®—Easily perform parametric studies by interfacing between COMSOL Multiphysics and SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor. When you change a geometry in SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor, the bidirectional interface updates the COMSOL model without losing defined conditions or physics.
