is that it provides a fast and uniform heating process, in
contrast to traditional conduction heating. Its
applications range from microwave ovens,
through therapeutic medical treatment, to
material processing in the manufacturing
industry. Yet these along with optical components
are also subjected to other physical phenomena,
such as structural mechanics, which in turn influence
their ability to transmit and receive electromagnetic waves.
