Solid with trapezoidal section

Hi,
I am trying to create a solid block with a trapezoidal cross section.
I tried creating a trapezoid using the polygon option and then converting that to a surface and finally, extruding the surface to form the block.
However, I get an error when I try to convert the polygon to surface. It says at least two vertices are required.
Can anyone suggest alternate methods to create the block?

1. Create workplane
2. Create polygon within the plane. Choose Type:Solid
3. Extrude the plane
