Linear motion of a magnet moving around a coil in 3D

When modelling the linear motion of a magnet around a coil or other ferromagnetic materials in 3D, it seems that (1) moving mesh is requred for large motion; (2) magnetic field, no current interface is requred to enclose the identity pair so that continuity coupling only involves the magnetic scalar potential; (3) magnetic field interface is required for the domains with coil/current. The problem is: how to couple the magnetic field, no current interface with the magnetic field interfance. Without proper coupling, the two interfance just works separately. This coupling is automatic in rotating machinary.

Hi,

you can use the functionality of the rmm interface for any kind of motion. Just set up the moving mesh outside rmm and do not use any moving mesh function inside rmm. Use the Mixed Formulation Boundary and vector- and scalar potential domains in rmm as appropriate.

Cheers Edgar
