Modeling and Simulating electrical field

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

hi there i want to Model and simulate electrical field when applying a time varying voltage across the wires and the plates. On the plates there should be a dust layer parameterized by a thickness and a resistivity.. The thickness is not constant along the plates. Therefore it is meritorious if the model can handle varying thickness in space.

any help how to do this model will be appreiable.

Regards

sara

Hi,

Since the only specific issue you have mentioned is the handling of varying thickness, I will give my two cents about that.

I don't know if you are defining the dust layer as a property of the plate, or if you are modeling the layer as a separate domain using the geometry. If the former, you can use an expression (which can be a function of the position along the axes) instead of just a number. If the latter, you can simply make the domain representing the dust layer to have an uneven shape.

I hope this helps.

actually i am stucked into the step if how to make the geometry of my problem
i have to make a kind of geometry where i can use a time varrying volatge and then apply that voltage across a wire that is above a plane which is grounded and then i have to observe the variation in electric field across wire.what kind of shape you suggest
thank you
