Intro and Live Demo
Modeling has never been easier - or more powerful- than what COMSOL Multiphysics offers you today. This workshop guides you through the modeling process for various types of plasma reactors. Benchmark and application specific models will be presented. Applications include semiconductor fabrication, plasma source design, lighting systems and dielectric barrier discharges.
Hands-on Session
Low temperature plasmas represent the amalgamation of fluid mechanics, reaction engineering, physical kinetics, heat transfer, mass transfer and electromagnetics. The inherent complexity of setting up a model of a low temperature plasma is greatly simplified by using the specialized modeling interfaces in the COMSOL Multiphysics Plasma Module for the most common types of plasma reactors. These include Inductively coupled plasmas (ICP), DC discharges, Wave heated discharges (Microwave plasmas) and Capacitively coupled plasmas (CCP).
During the hands-on session the participants will get a chance to work through one or more tutorial problems drawn from the above topics. These tutorial problems are designed to make participants quickly proficient in COMSOL Multiphysics version 4.2a, enabling you to model your own problems with the included two week trial.
Intended Audience
This workshop provides an introduction to COMSOL Multiphysics. It is intended for new as well as existing COMSOL software users who would like to get acquainted with the
Plasma Module
